Rappenlochschlucht (28.10.2007)

Since it was a nice day (sun was sometime visible ;), I decided to go and see Rappenlochschlucht which is natural sight about 5km from Dornbirn. There's not much to tell so I'll let the pictures speak from themselves.

Oktoberfest @ FH Vorarlberg (11.10.2007)

We also had a little "Oktoberfest" party at the school. They also celebrated 10 years of student exchange in the FH so the ladies at the international office asked us to do somekind of performance to the party. We decided to do a short movie about the life of an exchange student in Dornbirn.

You can find a heavily packed version of the movie from here.

They also had some other performances there like dancing and some music from nearby.

(Just before presenting our movie... with Gerardo and Daniel)

Some Swiss (?) players.

(The guy who poured all the drinks... with Amaia and Camila)

People seemed to like our movie quite a lot, at least we got much of positive feedback. Thanks to everybody for the support!

After we presented the movie, I had to leave to "Conrad Sohm's" (a club in the mountains) to see Sportsfreunde Stiller. It was great too though I have no pictures from there.

The local paper wrote about the Oktoberfest:

The Pub Crawl (31.08.2007)

Of course Pub Crawl is also a tradition here among the students.
We formed up some teams and went crawling. We went around some bars doing some tasks (e.g throwing coins, drinking without hands and playing a crocodile game). The party ended again at the Lounge where they announced the winning team (ours won of course, go ZWEI go! ;).

You can find some pictures from here

(I'll add some pictures later)

Later on we went again to the Mr. John's and the rest of the night is history... ;)

Innatura (30.08.2007)

We made a little excursion to the Inatura, the natural history museum in Dornbirn.

There were much to see like animals, rocks (interesting?), insects, fishes, many 3d-movies and a presentation about avalances.

Beginning party (27.08.2007)

Of course it's important to start the studies with a party, so the International Office had prepared a party for us exchange students. So during the evening we headed to the Lounge.

The nice ladies of the International Office (also thanks to the tutors)

Later we headed to Mr. John's (like many many times after that ;)

Was a fun evening... no more comments about that ;)

Dornbirn (23.08.2007)

It was time to leave pretty Göttingen behind and start my trip to Dornbirn.
The lady who was selling the tickets was really happy to get some finnish change though she told me that she's a big fan of finnish detective stories (I guess she meant swedish).

Trip was actually very easy; only one change in Ulm and the 1st part was with the fast ICE-train. The trip took totally around 6 hours and I got to see some cities like Stuttgart (from the window though). Also Lindau and Bodensee looked really nice... but I'll get back there later ;)

I finally arrived to Dornbirn around 17 where Karin from the international office was already waiting for us. She drove us to our apartments and gave us a really compact info-package about Dornbirn.

Later during evening we went to explore the city and and of course tried to local beer ;)
During the 1st evening also people from www.partypeople.at came to take a picture of us. Zum Wohl in Vorarlberg!
